Dear Friends:<\/p>\n

There’s a lot going on in the next few days at Berkeley Friends Church and elsewhere. Here are some reminders:<\/p>\n

1) This evening, 6\/13,<\/b> two of our committees will meet here at BFC: Missionary, Outreach and Christian Education<\/b> will gather at 5:30 PM<\/b> (there will be pizza), and Ministry and Counsel<\/b> at 7:30 PM,<\/b> or earlier if everyone has arrived. Please don’t forget to join us if you’re on one of these committees!<\/p>\n

2) On Saturday, 6\/15,<\/b> we will host the quarterly meeting of the Christian Friends Conference<\/b>–Western Region (CFC). You are invited to take part in waiting worship and Bible reading<\/b> in the manner of Conservative Friends, and to share fellowship and an open discussion with Christian Quakers from around the Bay Area and beyond. 9 AM – 4:30 PM.<\/b> Beverages and bagels will be provided in the morning; please bring your own lunch.<\/b> See the attached for a schedule with full details.<\/p>\n

Also on Saturday,<\/b> there will be a free screening<\/strong> of “A Place at the Table”,<\/strong> a documentary that brings the issue of hunger in America <\/b>into focus through the stories of those living with food insecurity. The film will be screened at the Oakland Museum of California<\/strong>, <\/span>1000 Oak St., Oakland<\/span>, and will be followed by a panel discussion. <\/strong>1 PM – 3:30 PM<\/strong>. This free and open to the public<\/b> event <\/span>is presented by the office of Congresswoman Barbara Lee;<\/span> RSVP<\/strong> to leeca.events@mail.house.gov<\/a><\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n

3) On Sunday, <\/b>6\/16,<\/b> the Singing Ensemble<\/b> will meet to rehearse at 9 AM.<\/b> Then, Sunday School classes<\/b> for children and adults meet at 10 AM.<\/b> We gather for worship at 11 AM,<\/b> seeking God’s presence together with an extended period of open worship<\/b> along with singing and praying as a body. <\/p>\n

Our monthly potluck lunch<\/b> follows worship; please bring a dish to share if you can, or a few dollars to help with the purchase of supplies. (If you are bringing something to eat, please also bring a list of ingredients so that people know what’s in your dish.) Then at 1 PM,<\/b> we will gather for Monthly Meeting with a Concern for Business.<\/b> Members should please attend, and all others are welcome.<\/p>\n

(Please note that while the Singing Ensemble<\/b> will rehearse this Sunday, this month’s presentation<\/b> won’t be until Sunday, 6\/30.<\/b>)<\/p>\n

4) Finally, on Thursday, 6\/20, <\/b>the Food Pantry<\/b> could use help with a large delivery<\/b> from 9:30 AM – 12:00 noon.<\/b> Because the Alameda County Food Bank will be closed for the end of their fiscal year inventory the last week of June, our large USDA food delivery will come early this month.
