Dear Friends:<\/p>\n

Here are this weekend’s events at Berkeley Friends Church:<\/p>\n

1) It seems like the last one was just last week, but tomorrow, Friday, 7\/26,<\/b> is our monthly Friday Night at the Movies<\/b>. This month we present the 2009 biopic Creation<\/i><\/b>, which captures the legendary scientist Charles Darwin in a period of intense mourning–and expansive intellectual discovery–following the untimely death of his young daughter, Annie. Darwin’s work on his groundbreaking book On the Origin of Species<\/i> and his questioning of God’s existence parallel one another, much to the chagrin of his devout wife.<\/p>\n

ADMISSION IS FREE! Please invite your neighbors and friends. Refreshments at 6:30 PM, film at 7:00 PM.<\/b> Discussion follows the screening.<\/p>\n

2) On Saturday, 7\/27,<\/b> we will gather with family and Friends of our member Andrew Secrest<\/b> to give thanks for his life together. Memorial service begins<\/b> at 11 AM.<\/b> All are invited for a potluck meal following the service. We will need some help with setup,<\/b> both on Friday night following Movie Night and on Saturday morning beginning at 9:45 AM. <\/b><\/p>\n

3) On Sunday morning, 7\/28,<\/b> we will gather for Sunday School<\/b> for adults and children, at 10 AM.<\/b> Meeting for worship<\/b> begins at 11 AM,<\/b> with song, prayer, a message, and expectant waiting upon the Lord. Fellowship time follows worship, and then the Peace, Environment, and Christian Social Concerns Committee<\/b> will meet at 1 PM.<\/b><\/p>\n
