Dear Friends:<\/p>\n

Here’s what’s happening this weekend at Berkeley Friends Church:<\/p>\n

1) Saturday, 8\/10,<\/b> is the bimonthly Harvest Day<\/b> for the Berkeley Neighborhood Food Project<\/a>.<\/b> All of the donations from the various neighborhoods will be coming in to the Food Pantry that morning. Volunteers are still needed<\/b> to receive, weigh, sort and store the donations! You can come by as early as 9:30 AM<\/b> and there will be things to do through 1 PM.<\/b> <\/p>\n

Also, if you’re participating in BFC’s “neighborhood” and didn’t bring in your bag last Sunday, you’re welcome to bring yours by any time between 10  AM and 12:30 PM.<\/p>\n

2) On Sunday, 8\/11,<\/b> things start with our Sunday School<\/b> classes for adults and children at 10 AM.<\/b> In worship<\/b> at 11 AM,<\/b> it will be our privilege to hear from Bolivian Friend Alicia Lucasi,<\/b> who will share a message entitled “On the Love of Neighbor”<\/b><\/i>, drawing on Romans 13:9-10<\/b><\/a> and other Scripture passages. <\/p>\n

Fellowship time<\/b> follows worship, during which Alicia will do a presentation<\/b> on the work of the Bolivian Quaker Education Fund.<\/b><\/p>\n

Finally, the SInging Ensemble<\/b> will rehearse at 1 PM.<\/b><\/p>\n

3) A reminder that I will be away<\/b> from Berkeley leading a delegation to Israel\/Palestine<\/b> with Christian Peacemaker Teams from this Sunday, 8\/11,<\/b> to Wednesday, 8\/28.<\/b> My next day back inthe office will likely be Friday the 30th. If there are any immediate needs during my absence, please contact Nikki Gage or another member of M&C.<\/p>\n
